About

Dudhsagar literally means "Sea of Milk". Once you are there you will literally sea water as "milk" an illusion created by the high speed fall of water. There is also a story behind the name of the fall. The story goes that there was a princess who used to bath at falls with her maidens, one day a man stopped by on hearing the voices of pricess and her maidens. The maidens, built a virtual curtain of milk to hide the princess from the sight of the man and thereby helping her safeguard her modesty.

Entry Fee is Applicable. For Still Camera - Rs 300 Extra and For Professional Equipments - Rs 5000.

How to Reach?

Dudhsagar is more than 2 hours drive from Panjim. Moreover, it's not a direct journey. You would be required to go by foot or rail for 1 km to the falls. There is also a provision for for going by 4 wheel drive jeeps, which drop you and bring you back after 1 hour 30 minutes. By rail one needs to go to Kulem railway station and then trek/walkto the waterfall.

Tips

  • Always wear Life Jacketat the water falls
  • From July to September enjoy trekking in the forest but will have a distant view of waterfalls!
  • During Monsoon the place is legally closed so its better to avoid during Monsoon.
